There are many kinds of steel plates, so what is the use of each steel plate?

1, low alloy high strength structural steel

Used in buildings, Bridges, ships, vehicles, pressure vessels and other structures, the carbon content (melting analysis) is generally not more than 0.20%, the total alloying element content is generally not more than 2.5%, the yield strength is not less than 295MPa, has good impact toughness and welding properties of low alloy steel.

2, carbon structural steel

Carbon steel used in buildings, Bridges, ships, vehicles and other structures, which must have a certain strength, impact properties and welding properties when necessary.

3. Steel for building structure

Steel used in the construction of tall buildings and important structures. It is required to have high impact toughness, sufficient strength, good welding performance, a certain flexural strength ratio, and thickness direction performance when necessary.

4. Steel for Bridges

Steel used in building railway and highway Bridges. It is required to have high strength and sufficient toughness, low notch sensitivity, good low temperature toughness, aging sensitivity, fatigue resistance and welding performance. The main steel is Q345q, Q370q, Q420q and other low alloy high strength steel.

5. Hull steel

Good welding and other properties, suitable for repairing the main structure of ship and ship hull steel. Ship steel is required to be of higher strength, better toughness, knock resistance and deepwater collapse resistance.

6. Steel for pressure vessels

Steel used in the manufacture of pressure vessels for petrochemical, gas separation and gas storage and transportation equipment. It is required to have sufficient strength and toughness, good welding performance and cold and hot processing ability. The commonly used steel is mainly low alloy high strength steel and carbon steel.

7, low temperature steel

For the manufacture of pressure equipment and structures for use below -20℃, steels with good low temperature toughness and welding properties are required. According to the different temperature, the main steel is low alloy high strength steel, nickel steel and austenitic stainless steel.

8, boiler steel

Steel used in the manufacture of superheater, main steam pipe, water wall pipe and boiler drum. It is required to have good mechanical properties at room temperature and high temperature, oxidation and alkaline corrosion resistance, adequate durable strength and durable fracture plasticity. The main steel is pearlite heat resistant steel (chromium-molybdenum steel), austenitic heat resistant steel (chromium-nickel steel), high quality carbon steel (20 steel) and low alloy high strength steel.

9. Pipeline steel

Steel for oil and natural gas long moment separation pipe line. It is a low alloy high strength steel with high strength, high toughness, excellent machinability, weldability and corrosion resistance.

10, ultra high strength steel yield strength and tensile strength of more than 1200MPa and 1400MPa respectively. Its main characteristics are very high strength, enough toughness, can withstand a lot of stress, at the same time has a lot of specific strength, so that the structure as much as possible to reduce the weight.

 11. Compared with ordinary carbon structural steel, high quality carbon structural steel has lower content of sulfur, phosphorus and non-metallic inclusions. According to the carbon content and different uses, it is divided into low carbon steel, medium carbon steel and high carbon steel, etc., mainly used for manufacturing machinery parts and springs.

12. Alloy structural steel

On the basis of carbon structural steel with appropriate alloying elements, it is mainly used to manufacture the steel of mechanical parts with larger section size. It has suitable hardenability, higher strength, toughness and fatigue strength and lower brittle transition temperature after corresponding heat treatment. This type of steel mainly includes hardening and tempering steel, surface hardening steel and cold plastic forming steel.

13. Heat-resistant steel

Alloy steel with high strength and good chemical stability at high temperatures. Including oxidation – resistant steel (or called heat – resistant steel) and heat – strong steel two categories. Oxidation resistant steel generally requires better chemical stability, but bears lower loads. Thermal strength steel requires high temperature strength and considerable oxidation resistance.

14, weathering steel (atmospheric corrosion resistant steel)

Add copper, phosphorus, chromium, nickel and other elements to improve atmospheric corrosion resistance of steel. This type of steel is divided into high weathering steels and welding structure weathering steels.
